Pro Bono / Cooperation
We believe that law firms have a specific obligation to act in a socially responsible manner. Our pro bono work is one of the most extensive on the market.
Social commitment is important to us. For many years, we have provided legal advice to various non-profit organizations and individuals free of charge. We help them with drafting agreements, handling intellectual property, finding a suitable legal form and complying with their legal obligations. We also financially support numerous non-profit organizations so that they can carry out their valuable work.

Giese & Partner cooperates with the non-profit organization “Pro bono aliance”, which aims to improve access to legal advice for all and to support socially responsible advocacy to better protect human rights, public interests, and common values.
SOCIAL COMMITMENT
Giese & Partner offers free legal advice to refugees from Ukraine. We help with the processing of residence and work permits for Ukrainian nationals in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. If required, we also prepare necessary documents such as employment agreements, rental agreements, etc.

Giese & Partner supports the children's and youth center “Dům dětí a mládeže Pod Střechou, Rokytnice nad Jizerou, příspěvková organizace” with donations. The youth center provides support for refugees from Ukraine and recreational activities for Ukrainian children.
Giese & Partner supports the patient organization HAE Junior z. s. This organization is committed to improving the quality of life of children and young people diagnosed with HAE (hereditary angioedema).
Giese & Partner advises HAE Junior on all legal issues related to its activities.
Giese & Partner advises the non-profit organization Aperio free of charge. Aperio supports parents in difficult life situations, aims to provide direction and support, and helps them to find and make their way in society.
Giese & Partner has been supporting the Dětský domov Cheb a Horní Slavkov children's home in the Czech Republic for many years with donations. This way, we help to ensure that children can grow up in a child-friendly environment.
ART AND CULTURE
Giese & Partner is also involved in the cultural sector: by providing free legal advice for the establishment of "Americké jaro z.ú. (formerly the Institute for Czech-American Relations). We continue to provide legal advice to the institute, which organizes the “Festival American Spring”.
Since 2006, the Festival American Spring has brought together first-class international performers and young up-and-coming artists for classical and jazz concerts, workshops and lectures in Prague and other cities in the Czech Republic. The institute also supports cooperation between musicians and other artists and organizes various cultural activities.
Giese & Partner has been a sponsor of the Prague House of Literature for many years.
The Prague House of Literature aims to continue the tradition of Czech-German-Jewish cultural coexistence for which Prague was once so famous. It aims to make Prague a multicultural meeting place once again and to give the public access to different cultural approaches. The Prague House of Literature was initiated 20 years ago by the last German-writing Prague author Lenka Reinerová, the former ambassador František Černý and the chairman of the Franz Kafka Society Kurt Krolop.

EDUCATION & TRAINING
Giese & Partner supports the non-profit organization "Nadání a dovednosti" (Talents and Skills) - a mentoring program that helps young people from difficult family backgrounds to find a good start into their working life.
Giese & Partner is general partner of the Prague German Club, an association of students and teachers, mostly from the Faculty of Law at the Charles University in Prague, which was founded in 2011. The basic idea of the association is to raise interest in studying and awareness of the legal and linguistic culture of German-speaking countries and their influence on the Czech legal and linguistic culture.
This is achieved through events, discussions, educational trips, language courses, information about study opportunities in German-speaking countries, information about career opportunities, etc.
Giese & Partner has been actively supporting the German School in Prague for many years.
The German School Prague was founded in 1990 and is part of a worldwide network of 140 German schools abroad. It is a meeting place for intercultural dialogue and is supported by the Federal Republic of Germany. The German School Prague has been awarded the title “Exzellente Deutsche Auslandsschule“ ("Excellent German School Abroad") by the Central Agency for Schools Abroad.
